Much more usable and configurable than the included Apple app, particularly that it can start at boot, put itself on the menu-bar, and remove itself from the doc. I use it for those “gotta do it as soon as I get off the phone” situations where I can’t forget to make it happen right away. Nice tool. Wish it had a bit of font customizations, but it’s a small quibble.
This app has lots of customization options, but it isn’t at all cluttered. You can attach apps to specific applications, so they only show when that program/app is running. Super convenient. This is the perfect digital post-it app.
Highly customizable, very useful. Easy export of notes, powerful drag-and-drop sound/photo ability, nice to be able to quickly adjust font, size and colors. App needs search feature or after a while it will be hard to find stuff among multiple hidden and visible notes.

I was excited to find a sticky note app and I downloaded this one because of such great reviews. However, I am confused on how to use it. I don’t see any of the cool functions mentioned, so I’m wondering if there is something I did wrong on my part. On my Mac screen all I see is a yellow sticky note (no pins or anything and I can’t move it) that explains all the great things the sticky note can do. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!
I needed an on screen sticky note, that stays on top of other windows, to remind me of the things that are not in my inbox, or that I need to do that day. This is a nice, simple app that does exactly that. I can move it, resize it, pin it, change the color and font . . . but . . . it is not perfect - the one issue for me is that it does not sync so when I go home I have to remember the changes on my home computer, and edit the main note there. If this had syncing (or if you will only use on one computer), it is 5 stars all the way. It would be 6 stars if the note also synced to a mobile device, but really for me, not necessary. For the cost it is really nice. - Mike
If youre running 10.6.X this program will NOT function as described. If you go to the forums for this program, the developer even states so in reponse to another hapless buyer, who asks: "Just installed Antnotes 1.2.0 on OS X version 10.6.8 and when I hover over notes I see the pin, but there is no close or options button to change the note style. Whats up with that??" The developer replies: "Hi. Sorry, there are such issues at Mac OS 10.6.x. We are fixed them in development builds, and hope to release an update soon." I have copied and pasted this dialogue as written, bad grammer and all. Dialogue took place on 07/22/2014
Not just the app, the developer himself. Responsive, taking into account all of proposals, etc. Really nice. Looking forward for future updates and improvements.

I use this to keep commands, and other instructions when learning new software. 1) I love the “Manage Notes” section that lists notes by date created and date closed. 2) Hide all notes with the click of a mouse. 3} Peristent notes become opaque when not being used. 4) Capture Selction from Screen with one click!!!! Great for adding charts and snips from here and there.
Over the years I have used various note apps. on my Mac. When I found Antnotes I was absolutely thrilled. Very well thought out, installation went quickly and smoothly. It is my FAVORITE note app. - EVER! Thank you very much - and keep up the great work! Sincerely, Brigitte

Terrific app - it does anything I want a note app to do, and nothing more. Speedy, easy to use, no problems. 5 Stars!
the app shows promise but there is no way to register on their forum or request feature changes. Devs: please fix your reCAPTCHA bug on your support forum. It’s impossible to register to even report a bug! It shouldn’t be so difficult. “Hide notes when inactive” does NOT work when you attach a note to an app. Your desktop remains cluttered. Stick to Ghostnote or KeyCue until they figure this out.
Very useful alternative to the built-in sticky notes. App pinning is a great idea that saves a lot of time, along with the library of old notes and the ability to schedule them for deletion. Cloud syncing would be useful, but I view stickies as temporary storage and it is not an essential feature for me.

2 previous Stickie- type apps I had worked great until broken w later OS. This is good equivalent. Please fix the warped shape of the boxes and get rid of pushpin. I’m buying it. Hope you’re listening.

Doesn’t work well in dark mode. Otherwise, it’s fine if I just use it during the daytime. Can we have an option to set the default paste as ‘paste and match style’?
Big upgrade from stock Stickies app
I've been using the free version of Antnotes for a few months and just stepped up to the paid version. It's a great app with quality features but still keeps things simple, which is what I want in a sticky note app. The note background color options are great and meld well with dark mode layouts. The transluscent hiding is a great way to keep notes visible but not dominant. All around, a great app that's become a daily go-to keyboard shortcut for me.

Great app but could UI could be modernized
Great app, works perfectly, **stays in the same location on my external desktop after I disconnect and then reconnect it** literally a dream. The only thing I would like for the developers to consider is updating the UI. It would be nice if it were a bit more modern looking and more inline with MacOS standards. Slightly rounded corners, rectangular rather than what appears to be a sightly warped shape, top buttons in a menu row, rather than poping up off the note. Please get rid of that multicolor pushpin when a note is pinned. I appreciate the desire to look cute or quirky or unique, but I would wager that many mac users are attracted to the cohesive visuals of the system and its apps; being in line with this common design would be a positive feature that would make the application look more professional and, frankly, less like abandonware from 2008. Antnotes has amazing features - but it deserves a better UI.
Ideal App: Basic & Well Made
Using this to write my thesis. I can do anything with it, it's intuitively made, and there aren't bells & whistles distracting me. Best thing since the invention of the sticky note.
Great but could use a couple fixes
I use this app all the time and it is super great, although there are a few things that could be fixed. Ocassionally the cursor will randomly switch colors to white and I have to switch it back. Also there is sometimes a thing where if you are at the bottom of the note it will randomly scroll up and it looks kind of jumpy. But overall this app is good.
Great idea...horrible execution DO NOT RECOMMEND!!
I've had this app for years. They did an update about 1yr ago and it ruined the app. Notes would time out and go invisible immediately after typing, and every new note started with a white font. The menu and buttons don't show up after hovering over the corners. I tried to work with the developers on this, but responses for 3-6mo apart and they eventually stopped responding, even after I provided them with all the requested info and then some. I originally had the free version and upgraded to the paid version thinking that would help and it didn't change anything. I changed and adjusted every setting I could with no fix. Horrible app. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!!!
Dead?
Antnotes' version history suggests it's no longer under active development, which is a pity. It's a fine idea, but its interface is dated and it has a few irritating behavioral quirks (e.g., When in Antnotes, ⌥clicking another app doesn't hide Antnotes).
Sticky Notes App for the Small Reminders
If you are post-it note person, then you should have a digiital post-it note app for your desktop/computer for the small reminders or to organize yourself. Super helpful if you don't carry around a paper and pen but are that type of person.

Please. We want straight edges! Also a border color option. The cursor wasn't focusing on creation at first, but that's working now so adding a star.

Not Visually Pleasing
Strangely they decided to give the window a non-rectangular shape. The border color on a dark background is too light and doesn't look good. The functionality seems fine, but I think it looks too bad to use.
Does not meet a common sense
If you change the paper and/or text color, you won't be able to see the caret since it won't adjust the color according to the changed colors. In addition, "x" and "option" buttons remain visible when you type which is pretty distracting as a small-sized notepad.

and alternative to Apple's Sticky Notes. I do wish it pasted plain text though. that would make it a 5 star app.
Great notes app!
I use this app almost daily, and it's great for keeping notes tucked away until I need them. It's awesome for storing command line snippets I need frequently. There is one enhancement I'd love: remembering where each note is located on screen, and being able to restore those locations. I switch between docked mode with my Macbook (about 95% of use) and have my notes arranged just so. But if I undock the notes are (appropriately) moved to fit on the smaller screen. When I return to docked mode, I then have to manually move all my notes back into place. Window managers like Moom don't seem to see the individual notes, and can't manage them. This one thing would make Antnotes even better!

Exactly what I've been looking for
I have been looking for an app that does this for so many years. Everything about antnotes is fantastic. They stay on top of everything if you want or they can be hidden. So glad I finally found this!
Very Flexible and Unique Features
This is a wonderful application for keeping sticky-type notes. It is very flexible in terms of formatting the text, which is important to me. Antnotes allows notes to be stored out-of-site; other applications do the same, but I like the implementation of Antnotes, where notes are manaaged in a separate window within the application itself. The ability to attach a note to an application (it only appears when that application does likewise) is very handy and, to my knowledge, unique.
A game changer... but need paste as plain text keyboard shortcut
The ONLY thing that keeps this from being absolute perfection is that I have to right click to paste as plain text and can't do the same Command Shift V shortcut that I use everywhere. As someone that works in web design/dev, I don't need all of that formatting junk following me around everywhere. If there was an option to make specific notes plain text I would pay up to $10!
Good app but needs addition
I use the AntNotes app frequently, but tying a note to a web browser needs to have it tied to a specific WEB PAGE in the browser. Otherwise, good job.
Can you continue development?
It's a nice app, but I wish they would continue development.
Great developer support and unique app
I haven't seen anything like this app, and after many years of trying out alternatives to the OS-native Stickies app, I finally have notes that don't look like they're from the 90s. There are minor glitches, but the developer is very responsive, thorough, and cares about their product. I know there have been some complaints about the notes not being perfectly square, but what I find is that, in translucent mode, they look like they're so thin and light they could actually catch a breeze. I find they suit my minimalist dark mode desktops; notes stay on the screen on which they are placed, and even with glitches, this app is far better than any other I've tried over many years. Great and stylish note app but...
Editing and resizing text is a pain. Any time you try and change font using control scroll up the note immediately jumps to the top of the note making it impossible to edit particular sections of the notes. The same "note jump" happens when resizing notes. It jumps to the top of the note and i cannot see whether i am adjusting the note size enough to accomodate for screenshots. This app can easily get five stars if those small things are fixed because they are so intrusive.

Only shows on one desktop
You cant get support because the reCapcha button doesn't works, so I can't seek support from vendor. It would be nice if there was an option to show note over all appps so it is always there. Tab Notes does the job. I'd recommend it.
Deleted the app
Great idea, but poorly realized. The app does not keep the preferenc selections - for instance, I set it repeatedly to NOT run on start up, but it never held that preference choice. Also, only the menu bar icon would enable access to the preference menu. The program/app section (top left) never worked. update the app, and I might give it a try again.
So much functon in such a little App
WOW! I tested Aantlogic stickies basic version for a month or two and just bought and found it made life easier for me so the full version today. I can paste pictures, sounds, websites, podcastls, anything to a sticky and then attach the sticky to a project in Pages or Notes or any document. Speeds up all my work. So much better than the stickies that come with Macs. You can't go wrong for three bucks. Two thunbs up.
Offers More Features, But Software Is Glitchy
This app provides many features that the pre-installed notes app doesnt have - which is great! But… in terms of functionality, the software doesn’t run too smoothly. The settings button on the corner of the sticky note often dissapears, and no matter how many times you swipe your mouse over the corner, it will remain so. Also, sometimes, while the application is running, you are unable to access the manu bar; again, your curser can hover over it, but clicking on a menu item doesn’t do anything. Overall, its nice to have an alternative to notes, but not sure if I would buy again, given the chance.
Helpful and Easy
These cute little notes are attractive on the desktop, much more so than the default Apple Stickies on Mac, and they guide me throughout the day. Have been “nagged” by the developer to buy the premium edition previously but declined. Was “nagged” today and accepted! Thank you for the great work! P.S. I love the way a two-tone background can be accomplished—nuance! Something missing in certain cultures right now! P.S.S. For those who would like the app to sync on more than one computer—you can copy the contents of the Antnote on one computer and paste them into the default Apple stickie notes on the other computer—a bit inconvenient but a workaround. Hopefully the developer will add syncing to at least two devices in the future. P.P.S.S. 9/12/18: I am being asked to purchase the Antnotes on my second computer. They should be at no charge for paid subscriber’s second device.

Absolutley necessary in busy mobiile office setting
ON the fly all day long lap top open, This is a GREAT APP, saves time and my @#$. Post its stays on the desk top, create multiple notes or just keep one runon todo quick jots. I love it. Easiest , most organized and obvious way to not miss a small todo that was said on the fly. Well worth the 3 bucks. I like that I dont have loose pieces of paper that get lost or worse had that info I really needed but droped in the hall
Better than Apple’s Sticky Notes
The app is better than apple’s sticky notes, but thats a low bar to beat. This is what could make this app better. 1) you can’t set a default Font without also setting a default color.. the issue is that if you leave the app “stock” you get multi colored notes, blue, green, pink, yellow (pastels) but if you want a different font or font size, you are unable to set that without forcing the color to be whatever the “default” color that currently is up, so if its blue, you get 100 new blue notes with your font, but if you go into prefs and change the colors, your font is killed. bummer. 2) Command + Shift + N is the “global” setting for a new note, which is a very broad generalization of what we want, its too pushy. Chrome which i’d argue is way more popular than antnotes uses Command + Shift + N to open a private tab, something that is overridden with antnotes open. So by default you have to change the built in key commands or it makes your mac unusable and also it overrides those commands in those apps (Chrome never gets the keystroke because its intercepted by Antnotes). To globally save a note its Command + Shift + S, another super popular command that I use in numerous apps that now gets intercepted, so either change both of those shortcuts to something crazy or ask the user on install / first run if they want to setup global keys. 3) Need Sync 4) AntNotes -> Format -> Text -> Show Ruler would be nice to “hide” the ruler when you are not editing a note, there is no reason to see the ruler when you aren’t working on a note. Other than that, the app is great. The menubar is great, I still can’t figure out how to “pin” notes to certain apps but I must have closed those instructions? I’d give this app more stars but I think with a few of those fixes we are there!
Good but need square format
Very nice sticky application. But can we please have an option to display the notes with a square format? The curved edges drive me crazy.
Very Pleased
Purchased this app and am very happy with the funcitonality. For $2.99 this will save me a lot of headache! I love being able to pin a note to an application, such as Chrome. Is it possible to pin a note to a specific page that I reference frequently? With or without that functionality, this gets the job done! Very Pleased!

One of the best stickies notes app available
Definitively one of the best, lots of options for customizations. The only functionality I wish it could have is sync and backup using iCloud. I have two computers, and when I write a note in one of them, happens that I can’t access that note in the other computer.
